Our editorial approach
Clear methods, checkable sources and honest limits.
How information is prepared
Our articles start with a practical question. We use sources such as NHS guidance, NICE recommendations, government food-safety information and relevant scientific literature. We distinguish a general population reference from an individual requirement and a calculation from a prediction.
Sources and uncertainty
Health claims should link to a relevant source. We do not invent studies, experts or credentials. When evidence or individual needs vary, we say so. Source links are available on calculator, recipe and article pages.
Calculators
Equations, assumptions, activity factors and product limits are described beside each tool. Results are estimates and should not be treated as prescriptions. The same underlying functions are reused across tools to keep the calculations consistent.
Recipes and imagery
The initial recipes are original examples that have not yet been kitchen-tested. Nutrition is calculated from disclosed representative ingredient assumptions and rounded per serving. It is not a laboratory analysis. Food photographs are AI-generated serving suggestions; actual preparation and presentation will vary.
Corrections and updates
When a confirmed error is corrected, the content and any affected calculation should be updated. Published dates record the first edition. An updated date is added only when the content is genuinely revised; dates are not automatically refreshed.
Commercial independence
No paid placements, affiliate links or display advertising are active in this edition. If commercial links are added, they should be disclosed clearly next to the relevant recommendation.
